Hello

Can anyone help me ? I have been searching for my husbands family for the past few years, they were canal boat people, this is what i know.

Richard Woodward married Elizabeth Millward in 1879 in Northamptonshire.

Have the marriage cert, Fathers names are Charles Woodward Boatman and Jesse Millward Boatman. I have found Elizabeths family but am struggling with the Woodwards.

According to the 1901 and 1891 Census Richard was born abt 1851 Birmingham.

In 1901 He was living in Brierley Hill in 1891 he was on a boat called "Elizabeth with his wife and 3 children in Poplar, his eldest son and 3 other children are on "The Good Contriver" also in Poplar.

I have written to Lorna York at the Canal Museum in Stoke Bruerne but have not had any reply.

I am at a complete standstill with this side of the family and would love to find out more.

If anyone can advise me where to look for them i would be very grateful.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
