Thread: help to check a birth place on census

im lookin for the birth place of elizabeth millership so that i can find her birth im looking on the census but cannot seem to work it out so would like 2nd and 3rd opinions please





on 1881 shes married and called elizabeth batty living in killamarsh with hubby christopher shes 24 born notts lelston cow??



on 1891 all details as above apart from her age shes now 36 b notts whanall



on 1901 details still same age 46 b yorkshire ?????





could someone please help

Hi Kim,



There's an Elizabeth Millership on the 1871 census born WATNALL Notts.



In 1861 she is recorded as born in GREASLEY Notts.



These 2 records have her birth year as 1851 and 52 respectively



I cannot find an Elizabeth Millership born in Yorks.



To sum up, I would think Elizabeth was born in Watnall/Greasley Notts, as these 2 places are less than a mile apart. I would think WHANALL 1891 census probably should read WATNALL.

Hi Kim, just found this on Freebmd Christopher Batty married Elizabeth Millership in 1875 in Chesterfield Derbyshire vol 7b 1149



Also Elizabeth Millership born Sep 1851 Basford Vol 15 page 494



The district of Basford spans the boundaries of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire which includes Greasley. Hope this of some help to you.
