Thread: does anyone have hilgay parish records

hi to all

i am hoping thast someone out there will have acsess to

hilgay in norfolk parish records



i have the marraige of sarah ambrose to richard everitt on 10th sept 1801 [thanks to chris]

but was hoping that someone had the pr's so that i can find out who the witnesses were and the fathers im needing this info as im 90% sure sarah is mine just need to confirm her father

I'm not sure whether you will get this information, the register's give the name's of the marriage partner's only.

Someone in Norfolk may have access to P.R. possible bp. too will try my libary to see if they have you will be able to see wittness on P.R.

The marriage act in 1754 stated that:- "information on the marriage couple was to be recorded in a separate register and for the first time had the signatures of the witnesses and clergy. The information recorded is now beginning to look more like the marriage records of today ". However not all clergy did this. I have found some of my witnesses but they are in the minority. Good luck with yours.
