Thread: Mr Duncan. Court Jeweller, St James Street London

Can anyone help me find info on this Bloke? My ancestor was apprentice [in 1802] to his uncle `MR. Duncan`, who was one of the court jewellers at St James Street London. he was also a diamond merchant. Is there anyway of finding `Mr Duncans` Christian name and any family he had? I have tried trade directories but couldnt find him. If I could find out who he was and on what side of the family he belonged to it would be a tremendous help.

Hi Gillian. My ancestor was Robert Robertson born Cupar Fife Scotland in 1793. He was apprenticed at age 9 as a jeweller. He returned to Cupar in 1815 to take up the jeweller buisiness. Many thanks. Seeker
