COURTENAY in Ireland

Got back to James Michael Austin Courtenay c1800.James M.A. Courtenay was a Old Bailey court reporter,living in London 1841,1851,states Ireland as place of birth on both census returns,died Brighton 1854.1 son John Kelly Courtenay also court reporter.
Don't know where to start looking in Ireland for Birth or Marriage (wife listed as Mary Theresa Frances Courtenay).Obviously educated to work as a reporter,occupation given in1851 as looks like Linguist or Languages ?
Any suggestion or help gratefully received.

In researching Ireland it's important to know the place that your fellow came from. Ireland is not enough. However he has a distinctive name and there can't be many of those born in around 1800.. Have you looked on the family search site for a possible birth?
Again his wife has a good few names too. Again try family search site. A lot of Irsih records have been added over the years.

Had a quick look through the censuses.
Mary must been his second wife for the children on 1841 were too old to be hers.
