Camden. Parents Richard Beeforth and Ann.
Thanks very much. Where did you find this? I am having internet problems at the moment, can't get on some sites including Familysearch or emails. So I am wondering if this is from Familysearch?
It was on A******* digger.

Thanks very much Lola5, that is fantastic, as I've not been able to get any further before.
I have John on census, thank you. It is his parents I am researching now, on census, marriage etc, thanks to you, as I now have their names.
Thanks also for the bapt of his sister Ann, it does help a great deal. Much appreciated.
You're welcome digger.
Do you think the family may have originated in Yorkshire? I ask because there are several of that name and family names of Richard and John etc.
Do you have marriage of John Beeforth and sarah Burch? 1823 Hampstead ?
Thanks again - yes I have the marriage. As for originating from Yorkshire, I don't know. I guess the key would be to find parents Richard and Ann on census and see where they say they were born.
Cannot find either Richard or Ann on 1851 nor 1841. (1841 would not give a birthplace anyway just affirm born in or out of county).. Perhaps both dead before 1841. So it would need to be parish registers.
Thanks very much for looking. Checking the death reg's there aren't any for Beeforth in Middlesex before 1855. So looks like the parents died pre 1837 and possibly Beeforth isn't a Southern name? One of the places it does come from is Yorkshire!
Richard Beeforth was admitted as a freeman of the city of London in Oct 1816.
And a Richard Beeforth married an Ann White May 1813. at Stepney St Dunstans He was a widower and she was a widow from the parish, by banns called .
So John Beeforth's mother must have been another Ann?
There is a Richard Beeforth burial 28 Dec 1819 St. Benet Gracechurch London of Talbott? Court Gracechurch St. and is aged 48(so might well be your Richard)
and he is buried IN the church. So born 1771.... I think he must be yours?
Your John Beeforth married Sarah Burch in 1823,with consent of her parents(so under age) and Joseph Burch was a witness.
There are other snippets of marriages etc of Beeforths in London but I don't know if you want them. viz
a John Beeforth married a Jeney Aberlein/ Aberdeen/ ? on 29 April 1824 at St Martin in the Fields. Both of the parish.
Witnesses were one George Hall and Ann Beeforth. (Later on 15 May 1825 this couple George Hall and Ann Beeforth married at St leonard's Foster lane. She was a spinster and he a bachelor)
And then Jeney Beeforth (born 1800)formerly Aberlein/Eberlein/Aberdeen died and was buried on April 6th 1825 aged 25. I thought she may have died in childbirth and here is:-
JOHN BEEFORTH born 1825 Buried 17 April 1825 aged 3 weeks. Both mother and baby buried at Hampstead St. John.
Several deaths for Beeforth babies in 1872/3 and a 19 yr old Emma jane Beeforth in 1856
Burial of John Beeforth 4 Nov 1830 aged 10 months.
There is a death for Richard Birch Beeforth who died 3 oct 1875 aged 11 weeks and was buried 10 Nov 1875. So many deaths / burials at St John Hampstead n Nov/Dec 1875. All ages from infants to teenagers to those in late middle age and two involved the coroner. What happened in Hampstead in 1875. Was it vaccination they died from or cholera.
Site The Virtual Tour of Hampstead is interesting. None of the baptisms/marriages/burials listed are for Beeforths though?
