Default Lillian (Oxley) Palliaer or Palliser

1861 Lillian Oxley born in St Pancras.
1882 Lillian Oxley marries Frederick William Palliaer in Kensington
1891 Ferederick & Lillian Palliser, with Janet aged 8, Frederick 6, Harry 5, and Blanch 3
1901, Frederick described as married, is living with two sons, Frederick aged 16 and Harry aged 14. All the female have gone.
In 1911 Frederick senior is recorded as a widower, no children living with him.
The question is, what happened to Lillian and the female children?
    Thanks
    Brian

Thank you Lola and Noggin for your help with the daughters. But I am pleased to see its not just me who cannot trace Lillian!! Need to start thinking about putting her to oneside for the moment, and in a few months time something will pop up and solve the mystery!

She surely died. I cannot see that she would put her girls into an orphanage were she still living. And as for the husband allowing that to happen while keeping his boys with him well that beggars belief. Maybe Lilian died in childbirth and the baby with her. All sorts of possibilities.
Her parents were already dead and both died in different workouses(or may have been ill and in workhouse hospitals) so perhaps Lilian and Fred were poor too.
If he says he was a widow in 1911 but not on 1901 maybe she had TB and was away in a hospital? she must have died between 1902 and 1911... wonder why we can't find her.?

I am also looking for - and cannot find - a death for Lillian Palliaer née Oxley.

I can confirm that Lillie Mabel Palliaer is the girl in the orphanage in 1901, and sister to Blanche/Constance, also that the Tower Hamlets death is the same Mabel. Other children of Frederick and Lillian are Henry John b. 1886, Frederick George chr. 2.12.1884, Janet Mary b. 7.2.1883 chr. 3.2.1884. There is another possibility - Female Pallair birth and death reg Mar Q 1890 Kensington - 1a 140 and 1a 146. All Frederick's other children were registered in Kensington.

In the 1901 Census in April, Frederick states that he is married, so Lillian must be still alive. I cannot find her at all on the 1901 but given the surname, a mistranscription of the index is highly likely, especially given that she is not at home.

In 1911, Constance is at 11 Percy Road, Kilburn, 23, Single, a visitor in the Bowler household. Occupation General Servant Domestic, b. Kensal Rise.
In 1911, Mabel is 18, single, b. Kensington, Occupation General Servant Domestic in the Saunders household at "Lyndhurst", Southgate.

As Brian2009 says, Frederick is alone and widowed in 1911, but he remarried much later:
    Register Office Willesden 18.10.1930
Frederick William Palliaer 67 Widower Bricklayer of 103 Carlton Vale, Father George Palliaer (deceased), Bricklayer
Louisa Elizabeth Duggan 53 Spinster of 103 Carlton Vale, Father James Edward Duggan (deceased), Dock Labourer
