JOHN GILLS family Seaton Delaval/Tynemouth

Hi,

I am trying to trace my family history of John Gills born around 1852 in Hexham and married to Ellen Gills born around 1864 in Seaton Delaval. They lived at 12 Avenue Row, Seaton Delaval and had 6 children: Joseph, Robert, Ellen, William, Thomas, Arthur, Mary Ann (who died before she was 1 yrs) in 1911 census

I have found them on the 1911 census and the 1891 census (where they lived in Earsdon, Seaton Sluice but I can't seem to find any further information before that year. I really want to know who John Gills parents were and what Ellen Gills maiden name was before she married John Gills and where their parents lived/were born or any other information about the family.

Any help would be wonderful!

well i can see them on 1911 with the 6 children you mentioned. looking at the image there were 13 children born and 8 living at this time. and they had been married 29 years.

that fits with earlier census where i have found more children

so possibly
