Thread: William WRIGHT

I have been researching my Great Grandfather for some time, but am unable to link him to his father.
William WRIGHT b. abt 1862, Newington, Surrey. I have his marriage certificate m. 11 Nov 1888, Walworth, London to Cecelia BEST b. 1872 Southwark, Surrey. The marriage certificate states William's father as John - Gentlemans Servant. I can find William on all census after his marriage, but cannot find a family that 'fits' prior to it. He died 1907, Bermondsey, London.
Any assistance finding William before 1888 would be gratefully received,

Did William have a middle name ?
There are a few William Wright with a father John in the Surrey area in the 1871 census.

Thanks for the response.
I am not aware of a middle name, certainly not on the Marriage Certificate.
Yes, I have got a few returns on the 1871 Census with father John, but linking them to my William is the problem.
1891 census gives Wiiliam born in St Georges, Southwark, whilst 1901 gives Newington. Also, I don't have a specific DOB for William. When all the ages are taken from various data sources (census, certificates etc.) they don't tie up.
I was hoping that John's occupation (Gentlemans Servant) would reflect in the Census reurns, but no such luck !
As you can see, my brickwall appears to be getting bigger !!
