Need help on 1851 census. Ellen Stokes, born c1845, born Gillingham, Kent. Any info greatly appreciated.

I think this is Ellen in 1851 along with siblings; Charlotte 10. margaret 8, John 11, Amelia 5. There seem to be no adult stokes with them. They are in the Mount Wise Barracks at Devonport, (Plymouth, Stoke Damerel. They were all born at Chatham Kent(close to Gillingham) and John is described as soldiers son.. Lots of other army wives and children there and a few soldiers. Cannot see the parents.... off somewhere with the regiment, maybe Ireland, China, Alghanistan.
So it seems Ellen's father was in the army too. So you will wnat an army marriage possibly/probably.
I could not find any army record for what's his name(ellen's husband)? on either A******** or F* p when I looked yesterday.
You may have to get birth cert / marriage cert for Ellen.

Hello. I have searched the 1851 Census. and the only Stokes Who were born in Gillingham Kent
Are. Gearge Stokes. Father. 43.
Susanah Mother 38.
Susanah Daughter 14
Grace " 11
Alfred Son 4
Stephen " 2
No Ellen. I have searched the whole 2,530 List. So If I may have missed any perhaps you may know the Parents Name if so I will re-look
This is Ellen,s birth reg. Medway was reg district for Gillingham. It should show both parents names.

I think Lola you have my family. On the freebmd's the birth place is listed as Chatham. Her husband was Henry William Rumsey. Was hoping to pick up the parents names from the census. Seems soldiering runs in the family, daughter Elizabeth also served in the army. I have traced a marriage for Ellen and Henry to 1861 in Medway on the freebmd's but they don't give much info.

I think Ellens father may have died and her mother remarried.
If you look at the family above you will notice on the bottom a Charles Smith age one.
