Thread: Elizabeth Harrod 1861 Essex

Elizabeth Kitchin (Harrod) b 1861 Benfleet Essex married Joseph Kitchin 1851 in Irton Cumberland in 1879, marriage reg dist,Whitehaven.
Joseph died in 1902 and Elizabeth is shown married to a John Smith in 1911(married for 8 years) living in 24 Upper Road Plaistow Essex.

• I would like to find the parents of Elizabeth Harrod and her in the 1861/71 census.
• The marriage Reg for Elizabeth to John Smith in 1904 +-2

Do you have the marriage certificate for Elizabeth? I have found only one Elizabeth Harrod born in Benfleet Essex. in the 1861 census, she is with her g/parents and mother?

What about this one
Elizabeth Harrod christening 19th Dec. 1860 South Benfleet Essex, parents Cocket Harrod and Esther. LDS.
Since there is a birth for Esther Cockit Harrod in Jan Feb Mar 1838 Billericay Essex 12,10 and a marriage for her Oct Nov Dec 1863 Billericay Essex to Frederick Arbor one may reasonably assume that Elizabeth was the illig daughter of Esther Cockett Harrod(whichever way it was spelt).
A look at bapt register will determine this. Seax may have south Benfleet bap records online. Will look.

No sorry (not able to view actual pages as you can for St. Margaret's Barking Essex) but church is St. Mary the Virgin bap. 1838-1888 item no D/P 300/1/10 (1 vol.)
Perhaps someone going to Essex Record Office would do you a look up or maybe if you e mail them there someone might look it up for you.

Sorry looked on A******* and Free BMD but cannot find marriage of Esther Kichin to John Smith.

In 1841 where Esther is aged 3, father james aged 40, a baker, there is an Ann Harrod aged 70 with the family and next door is a James Cockett aged 30;maybe some relation?
