You don't state when Emma was born but I have found two possible deaths for Rotherham..
Tomlinson Emma March quarter of 1936 aged 63 years..

    9c 893

And another in 1920 aged 50 years

    Tomlinson Emma Rotherham

    9c 886

The first death would make that Emma born about 1873
and the 2nd death born about 1870..

I would think the first death might be the better option for 1936...The death cert will give you the informants name and it could very well be a family member..

    Hallo George,
What exactly is it you are looking for. ?
The Lady Marion has found what seems to be the death of George in Rotherham. Perhaps if you obtain this cert you will find who was with him when he died and this may give you further information on the family.
The death of Emma Tomlinson, nee Shaw would surely be relevant to your family history research though which of the two Lady Marion has found only you could judge is correct as presumably you already have the marriage cert so know her age.
I have found death certs to be very useful.
Electoral registers are also useful as are the telephone directories.
The marriage of Cyril N Tomlinson in 1943 would also be relevant as this would give you the maiden name of his wife and assist in tracing any children they had.... which is all part of your family tree.

Having looked at your tree on A****** I see that it is the death of George you are needing- and there are several George Tomlinson s born around that time and therefore several deaths. So the one in Rotherham may/may not be yours.
Do you have a baptism for George? Was he given a middle name? Do you have him on 1911?

    Hello Grandadtom,

I have some information on the tomlinsons going back to James Tomlinson (1625- 1695) I have verry little on my grandfather George other than he divorced my Grandmother Margaret in 1919 and married Emma Shaw at Rochdale. I know he was a musician and I have a possible death date of 1946 at Settle. I would be gratefull for any information you can provide on George or any of the other Tomlinsons. I could possibly fill in any gaps you may have, I have information on the following :-

There seems something odd as there is a death of Agnes Dinsdale Tomlinson(born 14 Dec 1919) in Claro N. Yorks 1990 age 71 but the same death is also listed under the name of Agnes D Mason.
For the birth of this same Agnes D Thomlinson,Jan/Feb/march 1920 Skipton Yorks the mothers maiden name is Nelson. One might presume that george Tomlinson married a Nelson.
Hopefully new member grandadtom will have the information you require.
