hi i'm new to this site. i'm looking for thomas alexander boothby, i know he was born in glasgow in 1899 and that he died in margate kent in 1977, his address was flat 3, 6 cornwall gardens cliftonville margate kent. the informant on his death cert is son inlaw a robert young.i'm trying to find out what thomas wife's name and anything about his son in law ,so i can find out what thoas daughter was called and if he had any more children. hope someone can help. i just cant seem to find this info out. thank you.

Welcome to Ancestry Aid. This is my neck of the woods, I will see if Thomas is on the electorial role in Margate tomorrow. If he is, perhaps other relatives are named on any electoral registers in the 1970's . I will pm a possible daughters name, based on a Boothby / Young marriage - Sorry this s BOOTH / Young marriage

This response is in two part, as it includes the name of a living person. This will be sent by pm.Thomas Alexander Boothby, was with his wife Alexia residing at the address you gave in Cliftonville. There was also present in the mid 70's a son. - Deatils by pm. Against his electoral register entry was the letter 'S'. I think this could mean service personnel. Other please correct me if I am wrong.

Alexia died in November 1997 in Thanet. Her date of birth is given as 6 April 1911. I have found on Scotlands People a marriage in 1950 in Camlachie district of Glasgow the marriage between Thoass A B Boothby to a Alexia McVey or Alexia Rice. Both records have the same GROS data number which is 644/03 0237

There is, again on Scotlands People a birth of Alexia Rice in 1911 in the Garngadhill district of Glasgow GROS 644/05 0432. I will leave you to investigate her first marriage and his death or divorce!

There is a child born in College district of Glasgow in 1950, that fits with the electorial record for Cliftoneville. - Details to be pm'd.

I have found, again on Scotlands People a marriage which COULD be the son in law. - Details to be pm'd. I will need to go back to the Elector roll to see if they were residing with Thomas and Alexia in Cliftonville.
