Hi, I am stuck again and need help again!!.

Francis Eames born 1811 merriott somerset married mary ann lavis 1837 and they had 10 children
edward - 1847 married jane-2children
frederick-1844
henry-1838
john-1840
james-1844 married rachel gillett had 2 children emma and leah eames.
francis-1845
mary jane-1849
elizabeth ellen-1851
reuben-1853
william-1854

I am trying to find francis eames mother and father.

Hi alisonjane,

Freereg has a baptism which could be him, born a few years earlier then you thought though, but it's not unusual for census returns to have later birth years.

Francis Eames baptised 2/8/1807 at All Saints, Merriott, parents: John and Anna

Freereg also has his marriage to Mary Lavis, 17/1/1837 at St John the Baptist, Pitney.

As Somerset appears to be well covered by freereg I suggest you browse the site, I'm sure you'll find more records pertaining to 'your' Eames. Look for John and Anna's marriage, and other children born to the couple. Have fun with the site, but if you find it difficult to navigate come back for more help. i am now looking for another family members SHORTER. I have been told they were schosher and then changed it to shorter during the 1st war as they were interned, but unsure of this.
Please can you help. do they have BMD in germany i need to find out if they really did change there name. I need to find the truth.

Also first names and dates of birth would be useful, even if DOB's are approximates, which area are we looking in?

thank you so much yes found that one , got stuck on paul eames.(bit of a bugger) found the children but not the wife. file number 5327. 1746 onwards.
