Mabel Eliza Barlow

Hello,
I'm seeking what happened to Mabel Eliza Barlow born Molong NSW 1876 to Edward Thomas Barlow and Elizabeth (nee Barnes). The family moved to Victoria before 1896 as she has a sister born in Kangaroo Flat - she is listed as sibling (Mabel Eliza 20), although she is not listed as a child of her mother on Elizabeth Barlow's death certificate in 1905 in Melbourne. Possiblities are that she stayed in NSW and married, but cannot find a marriage under that name, or maybe she moved overseas. Any ideas of where to look would be appreciated.

Hello wangurra and welcome to Ancestry Aid...Strange that she does not appear on her Mothers death cert as being a child as Australian death certs are very informative and record all children's names.. Have you contacted the Australian Births,Deaths & marriages?

Have you thought about contacting the Prarhan council offices as they hold a good deal of historical records..
Perhaps Mabel might have moved near her sister? The council offices are at the Old Town Hall buildings..

Mabel had a few sisters who lived in Melbourne. I have asked my mother if she remembers her mother-in-law (Mabel's sister) speaking of any of the family but she feels that there must have been a rift in the family, and I'm wondering if it had anything to do with Mabel. Not only is she not mentioned on the death certificate, but she is not listed in the obituarie/s in the newspaper, so it seems to be a deliberate thing. I'll contact the Prarhan council and see if they can help me. Thanks for your help.
