We have Annabella, she is my wife's Grandmother. She, her sister Euphemia (Effie) and brother Peter all came to Canada as 'Home children' in 1906-07.
The Parents supposedly passed away in the early 1900's, rest of siblings remained in Scotland.
We are very intersted in tracing the parents. Was there an Irish connection, as Bryan is an Irish name. Family lore says jessie came from Ireland, but nobody really knows.
Elwyn... Thanks for the information. Didn't know about the middle name.

    Thanks again
    daytona.

1.Jessie Bryan 28/8/1855 Tradeston, Glasgow, parents john Bryan & Margaret McDonald
    2. Jessie Bryan 27/9/1855 High Church Glasgow parents John Bryan & Jean Campbell
these were about the only Bryans.Whether one of the is yours I do not know. Unfortunately there are many William Millars some are with an e some an a. but too many to be of use.

I think as Elwyn suggested. Get the marriage cert.

    pejay,
Thanks for that info, will have to look into it. Agree with the number of W. Millars/Millers!
Is there any way to find out what happened to William and Jessie and where?
Family lore (again!) says they both died in an influenza outbreak or somesuch in the early 1900's.
    Thanks again.

Look for them in the 1901 & 1911 censuses; also look for their deaths. Scottish death certificates have the deceased's parents names. If you get the marriage certificate, as suggested previously, you'll then know those names from that, and so when you have found the right deaths. There might also be a will or two. All of these records are on the Scotlandspeople site.
