    Default Helen Kirk Patterson

I am looking for a marriage betweenHelen Kirk Patterson and ???? Naismith probably Glasgow or Clackmannanshire before 1915

She had a daughter and a son - The daughter was Helen and the son name is unknown

The son of this marriage was sent to Canada and all contact was lost after the end of the 1920's - I would like to know who he was and what happened to him

Helen divorced at some time and remarried John Moonie on 21 Jun 1917, Anderston Glasgow

Helen Kirk Paterson, b. 06 Dec 1886, Clackmannan,Clackmannanshire,Scotland is the birth for helen Kirk Patterson

    Hi

The marriage for Helen Kirk PATERSON (one 't) to MOONIE is there on SP, 1917.
Between 1898 and 1917, there are no marriages in all of Scotland between a male N*SIMTH and a female PAT*ERSON.
Between 1898 and 1917, there is:
1 Marriage with bride Hel* Kirk PAT*ERSON (to MOONIE, 1917)
0 Marriage with bride El* Kirk PAT*ERSON

Does the 1917 marriage state she was a divorced woman at the time? Divorce was rare, expensive and difficult back then. Was the daughter Helen registered born as a NAISMITH - and where and when was she born? Does Helen Snr's death records mention 2 husbands (Did she die in 1975 age 88?)

In looking for the son who was sent to Canada (as a Home child?) it's not clear if the search is for a NAISMITH or a PAT(T)ERSON. You say all contact was lost after the 1920s - does this mean there was contact with him for a period of time after he went to Canada?

    Frpm:
    THE BRITISH HOME CHILDREN:
These may be possibles: (NAME/Birthyear/place* /Ship/YearSent/age when sent:

    PATERSON George 1900 Eng Corsican 1908 8
    PATERSON William M 1904 Scl Scandinavian 1916 12
    PATTERSON James 11/03/1905 Scl Victorian 1912 15
PATTERSON James Minta 1907 Eng Regina 1923 16
    PATTERSON William 1903 Scl Hesperian 1914 11

I didn't see any likely looking NAISMITHs.
    * Not sure if place - is place of birth, or place sent from.

    Cheers
    Annieb

Interesting know he served in ww2 assumed it was in Canadian forces, could have been US Forces, are US records for military available? - Not sure how to track him from arrival in Canada - or the elusive naismith marriage!
