Default George Parker - Who were his Parents ?

Help required please - possibly from any kind researcher in Bristol area.

    George Parker

Married Elizabeth Smith 13th Feb 1899 at St Leonards Ch Hastings . He was down as just George Parker no middle name, Born in Bristol, father was George, although I sometimes don't think their father's name is always correct.
I think he was born in 1873/74
On the 1901 census it says he was 27yrs ( I think the census was done in March?) He was born in Bristol and that is all I have for sure.
I have found a George Parker born 1874 with the middle name of Henry. His sons were called George and Henry, so I did wonder??
I would really appreciate if some kind soul could assist - maybe someone who lives close to Bristol Records office ?

Have telephoned Bristol record office but they will not assist (even for a fee!)

    Don't worry davidii,
Be thankful it's not John and Mary Smith with children John and Mary!
Someone on here will help you find your Parkers in two shakes of a duck's tail!
And you've already made a good start.

I have not found the family in 1911. But on the positive side I have not found any deaths for Lizzie Jnr or snr, in Hastings, Brighton or Hove between 1901 and 1911!!

    Hi Davidii,

Do the witnesses to George's marriage hold any clues, perhaps? What info is entered for his father - his occupation and whether deceased?

There are two births for George Parker
    Dec qr 1873 Bedminster 5c 746
    Dec qr 1875 Beaminster 5a 347

Bedminster registration district was abolished in 1894 and was incorporated into Bristol and Long Ashton
Beaminster reg district abolished 1937 incorporated into Bridport.

The first one may [just maybe] be your man. The birth cert would give his parents names. However there is always a possibility that it is not the right one - but it may be worth taking a chance

Have you found him on the 1881 or 1891 census?

    peyay,
This one seems simple but isn't. There are several George Parkers born Bristol area at that time but when you try and follow them through cenuses it becomes very confusing. We need Davidii to come back and give us more info. There are only two possibles with father George so we really need to know what the occupation was of George Parker senior.

the 1881 Census - my best guess is -
( It somehow fits the mystery - it seems odd even for 1881 that the head of household is a10 year old girl !!!)

    Any thoughts ?
