    Default Street Address

    Hello everyone
Can any one tell me how I can look up who lived on a certain street in the census 1891 and 1901 please,
I am searching for a Mary Johnson who lived in Nun St. Derby she would have been living with a Charles Johnson, at this time I am not sure whether it is her Father or brother, She was born in Herefordshire 1846, At sometime later she gave her name as Mary Diana Johnson, Diana is an unusual name around this time, It would be nice to see who was in this household, Any advice welcome

    Kind Regards

    George

Will have a look George....back soon.
Had a look but can't see anything obvious at the moment. Will have another look later on. Do you know whereabouts in Herefordshire she was born?

    Hi
I have been through all the Charles Johnson resident in Derby, none of whom lived in 1891 on Nun Street. I have also looked at all the Mary Johnson's born 1846 +/- 5 years, and none of these resided in Nun Street in 1891. Nun Street is in two parishes, All Saints and St Werburgh. St Werburgh has 9 properties while All Saints has 115, including 2 pubs and a Workmans Home. Why do you believe they lived in Nun Street?

    Hi George,

I hope you are OK, not spoken for a while.

Somethings in your query don't add up George, eg there's no death registered in Derby for a Mary Johnson in 1946, and no death registered anywhere in England for a Mary Johnson born 1846 died 1946, at least none I can find.

Did Mary Johnson die as a spinster? Do you have a number for Nun Street?

    Good morning all
First of all a big thank you to everyone for trying in this bag of worms, A distant relative has made contact and this Mary Johnson is the sister of my Gt. Gf, I will post under this reply the mail that I received, we are both searching for the Marraige of their parents, I did manage to find a Louisa Johnson (mother) Charles Johnson (son) mary Johnson )daughter) in 1881 census tittersons yard, Derby, After this it gets a bit vague, , here is the mail Facts we know.
Mary Diana died 21st Dec. 1946 at 5 Granville St Derby she was 80 years old
She had married Theodore Hitchcock 7th Nov. 1896 before the marriage she was living in Nun St. Derby, (father was Charles Johnson Labourer) her surname there was Parker 27years old and widow.
On 16th of Feb.1886 Mary married Thomas Orgill same father details at this wedding one of the witness is George Henry Carrington who went on to marry Lousia
I have a death for Thomas Orgill 22nd Feb. 1888 the address for this was Ct2 House2 Bloom St Derby.
Thank you for your mail I will now take time to digest all you have said thanks

    Hi George,

Thanks for the latest details regarding this query. I am assuming this thread relates to Charles Johnson........... http://www.ancestryaid.co.uk/boards/...y-johnson.html

How have you associated Charles Abraham Johnson to Mary Hitchcock who married as Mary Parker? Also I don't understand how Mary Diana Orgill (nee Johnson) became Mary Parker who married Theodore Hitchcock.

To help anyone trying to solve your query here's some census details
