I am trying to find the parents of William Simpson born about 1756 in North Carolina? His father unknown was born about 1732 in Scotland and moved to North Carolina sometime around 1745-1750. Have not been able to find Williams birth record. He had a brother Obadiah (Obediah).
William married Rebecca Mott in 1779 Hempstead, New York. They had 11 children.

2. Thomas, b. 1787 Saratoga, New York.
3.James, b. about 1792 U.S.
4. John H., b. abt. 1793
5. Obediah, b.1796.
6. Jacob, b. 1798, I have 2 birthplaces for him, U.s. and Nova Scotia.
7. Keziah, b. 1799 U.S.?
8.Nancy, b. 1792 New Brunswick.
9.Sarah, b. after 1800 Ontario, Canada.
10. Priscilla, b. Ontario Canada.
11. Almira, b. 1815 Ontario, Canada.

William and his brother were Loyalist in the Revolutionary War. After being banished from New York State, they moved to Ontario, Canada. Have looked at some passenger lists but found no Simpson's going to N.C. in that time frame.
Even if I can't find Williams birthplace, finding his parents names would be exciting.
