    Default Fitzpatrick Search

    Hi Everybody

I am looking for my mothers Aunts, this is the information I have

Teresa and Kathleen Fitzpatrick (Born in Ireland) sailed from the UK to Australia (we think Adelaide) in the early 1920's they met on board ship 2 brothers (possibly Irish) with the surname boden and married them. Teresa Boden had 3 children - Desmond, Patrick and Kevin.

We know Kevin drowned at the age of 12 years old.

We do not know what happened to Kathleen

Any help would be greatly appreciated - My mothers maiden name is Hipwell

    Regards Liz -

    Hallo Liz and welcome,
Can you tell us anything more about Teresa and Kathleen such as when they were born or whereabouts in Ireland they came from. Does County Offaly/ Kings County ring any bells?
Have you found T or K on any census in England.

    I looked in the Irish 1911 census for a Fitzpatrick with a T & a K but couldn't spot one with both.

    Hi Lola

    Thank you for your reply.

I have found out that Teresa was born in 1896 and Kathleen (known as Kate) was born in 1891, I managed to find this on the Irish census supplied by Elwyn. They lived in Ballitore Co Kildare, as you probably know obtaining information for Australia is very difficult. This is the only information I have at present, but I would really like to get further, as there is a very good chance we have relatives living there.

    Regards
    Liz

    Hi Elwyn,

Thank you very much for the irish census link, I did manage to find them, and it has been a great help, because I also have the names of all the family.

    regards
    Liz

Glad to help. Hopefully you saw that the 1901 census is on the same site, so you should be able to pick the family up in that too.

    hipwell,
    Well done in finding them!
I had looked at both 1901 and 1911 and just could not find a Kathleen and a Teresa together... but I must have missed that one. My Irish ones were born around that time too and it was only on the 1901 when it was first released that I found them together with parents before they sailed for USA, Two other older sister went to Australia some time before and it was two people in Australia who contacted me about them as we had the same great grandparents.
Now that you have the birth years they should be easier to find.

Now you need a look up for immigrants in Australia and hopefully the Bodens will be there too.
I too have a Fitzpatrick but she is a mystery.

Here's a link to a site which will show you where each surname is found in Ireland. Fitzpatrick is found everywhere!

i've bookmarked that site. Interesting that they came from all over. Makes things harder I guess.
