Thread: Grandfather - JAMES HARGREAVES (b1901 - d1948)

Could someone plz do some research or look ups for my grandfather - JAMES HARGREAVES (b1901 - d1948) married Elizabeth Arkwright July 14th 1921 - St Pauls, Blackburn, Lancs. Lived at 10 Blakey Street, Blackburn at the time of this marriage. Is there any way I can find out what relationship to my grandfather/grandmother the witnesses where? I have names on the certificate if this is needed. He was a motor driver and uncertain who for etc etc.. need to know if there are any brothers or sisters belonging James.. any other info would be great.. Thanks.

The 1911 census which we still have copyright issues with, so we can't give details. But from the 1901 we find your grandfather, who is the grandson of the Head of the household.

Apart from a change of address in the 1911, Jonathan & Elizabeth had had 5 children, four of whom were living. (George was born in 1905)
The eldest child Mary Elizabeth, who was 14 in 1911 could have married a Edward Chadwick in 1918, or Thomas Goorman in 1923, or James Fish in 1924 or Frank Wymark in 1927 - Just incase they were one of the witnesses.

But if you have the certificate, please would you post the names of the witnesses.
