hi im looking for a amelia smith born in old hill in 1873.her parents were samel smith and mary ann skelding.i cant find amelia with her parents after 1881. in bowling green lane kingswinford.she married a william phillips in 1909 in stourbridge but i cant find them with children.i also cant find out anything about william on that he was born in kingswinford kind regards jayne x.gif "(rofl)")

More than likely she was working as a servant by the 1891 census....unfortunately there are quite a number of Amelia Smiths in the Staffordshire/Worcs area at the time.
The marriage cert for Amelia and William will give you his fathers name, which will make searching easier..........

Checking the 1911, the Amelia married to William Phillips and was born in 1886, in Stourbridge, where as you are looking for Amelia born 1873. I have found the family in 1881, and Amelia as a domestic servant in 1891, but from there its a blank. Could she have married between 1891 and 1901? So it would help to know where the deatils of the marriage came from.

This looks like their first child born in Wollaston which is a part of Stourbridge.
I also agree with the previous post. Amelia born 1886, William born Clent Worcestershire in 1884, occ hardware salesman.

In 1901 William is living with his widowed mother Hannah b 1852 Blakedown Worcestershire her occ is Licensed Victualler. There are 3 other slblings living with her at (Fountain Inn), Adam's Hill, Clent
