    Default baptism look up /Workhouse?

Looking for baptism of Mary Jane Brocksopp.According to 1881 census ,she was born abt 1862 in whittington Derbyshire. We know she was living in the workhouse in derbyshire as a child. We found a record for this ,but lost it,so no idea which workhouse.By 1881 she had moved to Halifax west yorkshire and was employed as a domestic servant aged 19. In 1885 she married Alfred Churchman in Halifax. This was his 2nd marriage,he was a widower. Also Mary already had a child,Louissa, before she married Alfred.Cant find Marys baptism anywhere and am now wondering if she was born in the workhouse and maybe thats why. Were they recorded elsewhere?Absolutely stuck on this one.
    Thanks

As Mary Jane was in the Workhouse in 1871 it's very possible she didn't know when she was born, or where.

I wonder if this may be her in 1861. The middle initial 'I' looks like a 'J' on the original sheet. There's no marriage in the GRO index for George Jackson and Millicent. Could Millicent be Mary Jane's mother?

George Jackson 27, Southwell, Labourer in Iron Works
    Millicent Jackson 23, wife, Kirklington
Mary I Jackson 4, dau, Southwell
Mary Brocksop 56, mother in law, widower, Southwell
John Brocksop 15, brother in law, Farnsfield, Coal Miner
Thomas Walker 15, nephew, Southwell, Labourer at Iron Works

Not sure whether you have these teek

Louisa Brocksopp was 'received in the church' on Sept 5th 1888 at St Anne's in the Grove Southowram, no father named, mother Mary (spinster), born 6th May 1884, Alfred was originally entered as father but his named has been crossed out.

Christened same day was Agnes Mary Churchman, born 25th Feb 1887, parents Mary and Alfred Churchman (Labourer). Address for both entries is: The Birks.

I also found Mary and Alfred's marriage and note no father's name was entered for Mary. So it is possible Millicent was her mother and living with George Jackson?????????
