    Default Francis Whitehead

Hi all, this is my first post and my first brick wall with my tree.
I've traced a line of my family back to a Francis Whitehead (male) born in 1798 in York. He was a basket maker along with his child 'Edwin'. I am now thoroughly stuck. Anyone have any info? Would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Thanks guys, Marc

    Hi Rubina,

The christening is from Ancestry's 'England and Wales Christening Records 1530-1906', and the marriage from Family Search Beta.

Hi Marc, you are most welcome.

I hope this link works - try it and hopefully you'll find three further children born to William and Susannah, the third on list has mother's maiden name.

Good luck and further help you'd like do post.

Thanks again I've come across 3 children 'Thomas' 02 Oct 1780, 'Sarah' 15 Jul 1783 and 'George' 29 Jul 1786. But they have differently spelled 'Susannah's' One is a Susanah Eveson and the other two are simply 'Susanna'.
Is it common to have spelling mistakes? Because it would seem too much of a coincidence for them to not be the actual relatives?

Absolutely Marc. You must remember most people back then were illiterate, and spellings of names weren't standardised until late 19th early 20th century, the spellings were scribes interpretations, or spelt as heard e.g. phonetic.
