Can anyone help me with stablefords in 1841
looking for Peter Stableford in 1841 census he would be about 20
also father Richard (who may have died)
I've found a reference to the marriage of Betty Stableford in 1840 to a William Gibbs at Manchester she would be interesting too

This seems likely for him in 1841, living Chorlton Manchester.

There's this baptism on the Family Search site.
Peter Dean Stableford, baptised 10th July 1821 at Macclesfield Cheshire (Non Conformist), parents: Richard and Betty.
Stellier, take a look for yourself on the Family Search site as there's also another baptism record for a Peter Dean Stableford with same parents.

I agree I think this is the right family and Betty must have married the next door neighbour to look after those children what a curious web.
My stablefords are down as stapleford elsewhere so stadleford is also a good derivation.
there were two Peter Deans one died in 1820 born about 1819 I think.
