Hi i am trying to find a way to design a tree for my mom and dads desendents. There are 12 children (11 living) a few have had multiple alrelationships each of these relationships had several children and each grandchild had several children. one of these grgreat grandchild had a baby.
counting mom (dad died)there are 5 living generations. not many people can say that.
in total there are well over a hundred and it would be nice to show my mom a diagram of all of us.

    Hi wrightwigg,
I think you need a bit of help from the rest of the family with such a project. Could you get each of the adults involved to send you in some photos of their families with the names and dates of births written in pencil on the back? Then get a large white sheet of some kind(cloth ) and lay everything out in place.
A hundred/names together with photos will need a lot of space! Could you not make it into some kind of booklet.
First page Mum and Dad with their children and photos of each.
Then next page the eldest child with his her spouse/partner and their children and partners and the grandchildren(and partners. And so on.... a page for every one of Mum's children. Mum can then turn each page to see her son or daughter with all his/her family. Keep it simple... name and date of birth for each. I have never done anything of this nature so am just trying to suggest something easy. If Mum is computer-wise then there is probably a computer programme that can do this or you can contact a genealogy printer to do it for you.

    Hi,

Just a thought but I started with a roll of wallpaper lining paper abt £1. Do either your mum's side of the family first or your father's side. Cut the lining paper to the size you want and sellotape the back of each piece as your tree grows. Then you can roll it up and pop it into one of the poster tubes.
