    Default William Lawrence

I am trying to find the parents and wife of William Lawrence born 1758 Tudeley Kent his wife was Elizabeth ( surname unknown) and I believe she was born Rodmersham which isn't far from Tudeley ( both around the Sittingbourne area according to google maps).

Now I have two possible sets of parents for William and they are John Lawrence and Mary Outtrim also Timothy Lawrence and Jane Feaverstone( Featherstone) both of Tudeley in Kent.

William and Lawrence had one child that I am aware of and thats Stephen Lawrence who married Louisa and they had rather a large family.

    any help would be great.

    Hi Suey,
Cannot find Rodmersham marriages on line. (which is possibly where William and Elizabeth married as they did not marry at Tudeley.)
Baptism of William Lawrence at Tudeley, 26 March 1758 gives parents as John Lawrence and Mary(A John Lawrence married Mary Chapman 29th jan 1744....this might possibly be them. I cannot find marriage of a John Lawrence to Mary Outram?.
    John and Mary also had;
    Thomas 28 Jan 1749
    Timothy bap 17 Dec 1752
    James 28 Nov 1756
    Luke 17 feb 1754
If you live near a family history centre you could perhaps order the film of the Tudely baptisms/ marriages.
Where did you find William and Elizabeth ? and Stephen and Louisa? On LDS site

    Hi again.
No I don't live near one either!
Tudeley is on Hugh Wallis which I find is very useful. Will have another look.
Trouble is all the brothers named their children with same names and often the sons married in the bride's home church! I suppose Elizabeth was too old to be on 1841 census.
Tudely burials can be downloaded from Tudeley.org (It doesn't work for me somehow)

That's good.... every little bit helps! Can you tell me where/how you found Elizabeth in first place? I can't see her anywhere.

    Not to worry Suey,
I think your William is the son of John and Mary, bap 26 march 1758.at Tudeley.Timothy and Jane nee Featherstone don't seem to have had a William bap. there at that time. I have been through all the Lawrences/Laurences on Hugh Wallis for Tudeley and looked various other places. Trouble is the brothers all favoured the same names! They all seem to have had Stephens and Timothys .
