Thread: Looking for the parents of Thomas Wood.

Hi

Could any kind member help me find Thomas Wood's parents, the only info I have is that Thomas's father was named George
and that Thomas Married Nancy Walton on the 8th Feb 1898 In Poynton Cheshire. Thomas was born in 1872.

I have found Thomas and Nancy on the 1901 census where he's entered as born Poynton. There are a couple of Thomas' which fit with age and birth place, but not with father named George, did you get father's name from marriage cert?

Hi Slizzy, No I got the father's name from family search at the time of Thomas's marriage to Nancy. I have since found 2 children from the marriage Ada and William, I maybe clutching at straws here but perhaps William could be Thomas's father??

This looks like the most probable for your Thomas, but I will do further searches. THomas in 1901 was a Collier, and General Labourer could have been in the mines.

On the 1901 census there's another Thomas Wood born Poynton 1873, he's married to Jane; it is possible he's the son of the James above.
