Looking for William Elliott ......cant find his birth records or where he came from.
Think he was born around 1770?
He married Marey Parsons at Sixpenny handley, Dorset in 19/5/1799 and had a son william elliot born 2/2/1800 sixpenny handley.
ANyone able to help?

Have you seen the www. opcdorset.org/Sixpenny HandleyFiles/Sixpenny Handley.htm site/
They have baptisms/mARRIAGES/ 1841 AND 1851 censuses.
They have the marriage of William and mary parsons but his name is written as Ellot.
Ancestry have burial of a William Elliott born 1772 buried at Sixpenny Handley.28 Dec 1814 age 42

There is a marriage of a William Ellot to a Mary Casher at Fordington Dorset on 19th Feb 1770.
A baptism of a William Elliot 24th Nov 1771 at Wool Dorset, father William Elliot.(no mother's name) is a possibility but there are several such "possibles".
Did William marry twice as there is a marriage of William Elliott to hannah Budden 14 March 1814 at Sixpenny Handley.
If you look on the OPC Dorset site and scroll down through the census you will find on the 1841 several Elliot families and later on through Deanlane and newton some more.... so go through them all.You will also find some Parsons baptisms and marriages there.

I have looked at OPC dorset and there are no births in the 1770 ish period for william elliot. I have also checked the census and hannah was a widow, so he died before 1841.
