Hi suey.. cannot find a birth for a George Burridge b 1775 at Scalby, Yorks, how sure are you about his year and place of birth?
I did find a George Berridge ch St Mary's Kingston upon Hull Father Jonathon 12/2/1771. Could it be a possibility his name has been transcribed wrongly? Is he on any of the earlier census'es?

Hi Suey and pejay,
I can't find any Burrages/Burridges on Hugh Wallis born Scalby either. Can't find a George Burrage born Yorks any spelling on 1851.
Have you got a death for him?
Could he have come from Norfolk?
I can do you a very nice line in Burrages from Norfolk. (Weavers.... your George might have gone from Norfolk t' Yorkshire mills when jobs got scarce.)
Several baptisms of a George Burrage around 1770-5 on LDS but not Yorkshire.
It looks as though pejay's find is a good possible.
Any children called Jonathan in George's family?
I expect you have Mary Sanderson's birth/christening.... if not it is(possibly) 10th Dec 1775, father John Sanderson. C 106412

Hi Suey, does the marriage entry in the Parish Register definitely say born in Scalby, you sure it doesn't say of Scalby, or abode Scalby? This could make a big difference, as to be entered as of a place or living in an abode in a place doesn't mean they were born there, a person only needed to reside in a town for a very short time (I think it was 3 weeks) to be considered for the purpose of marriage as being of the town.
No help whatsoever to we family historians were they? Little beggars, I bet they have a great time laughing their socks off at our going round in circles trying to pin them down.
