Thread: Ernest Frederick Selby Fisher

Hi
I am trying to trace details of Ernest Frederick Selby Fisher, born 1896 in Shepherds Bush London. (I have traced his family back to 1713 in Skeyton Norfolk, and have him on the 1911 census.)

I believe, but i cannot find the source, that he was a Naval Stores Officer, and ended up in Singapore, as a senior Civil servant. He died in 1983 in East Sussex. On his travels he married Joan Aitchison, (b 1895, d 1975) where and when did this marriage take place?

He had a least one child Joan E Fisher, born in 1928 where I do not know. Can anyone throw some light on this family?

Thank you to everyone for their help, much appreciated. It would have helped if I had given the correct information about his wife!! Her death record show Joan Aitchison Fisher. I had entered Joan Aitchison as her maiden name, meaning to add her full name later. Very kindly I had an email from someone who is no longer active on AA, who gave me a link to a migration record on Ancestry, that showed the child, born in Trincomalee, Ceylon, and the mother born in Tweedmuir, Scotland. Armed with this information, the maiden name of Melrose was easy to find, and the subsequent marriage in 1920, was quickly identified via Scotlands People.
