Hello again - I am trying to confirm the marriage of John Palmer to Mary Ann Ball in 1866 in Birmingham - found on freebmd. I intend to send for the certificate from GRO but as a check, I searched Ancestry and Familysearch to see if they also had the info. - however nothing. This makes me doubt if I have the right pair. Is there another avenue to try before I commit to paying for the certificate? Thanks

The marriage you found is on A*********. There's four people indexed two grooms and two brides. John Palmer married either Mary Ball or Ann Parish.
Do you know for sure that 'your' John Palmer married Mary Ball? If not, give us some background and we'll try to help further.
Hi all - have at last found him on 1881 census with correct children and married to mary so looks like i've got the right one. unfortunately can't find him on the 1871. Sending off for certif now! Thanks!

If you post more details eg: where John and Mary were born and children's names, also where you found them in 1881, we can try to find them in 1871 and earlier census.
