Kimberlyn, is there any additional information you can share with us about Isaac? Did he marry? Did he have any children? Have you found him on the Census? Do you know his profession? All information may help with the search process..
I have found Isaac Johnson on the Census but I am not sure if it is the correct one?

thanks marion, i have all census,s except 1861 - just need his birth, i think he died around 1850,s as martha his wife remarried, he was a miner and in 1841 he was living in staffs as his wife was from hanley, i am in a pickle with replies i have had concerning martha as it seems her name was smith and she wed a rogers in 1827, he must have died as she wed isaac afterwards but i have her as marrying him in 1851! but her first child with him was born in 1831 (ann) then she wed a thomas nixon in 1856 - these marriages add up as the brides father john smith is on all of them and she wed nixon as johnson and johnson as rogers, only the children baffle me as she had 2 with rogers around the same time as 2 of isaacs if you get my drift? 1851 census isaac and martha were in stoke on trent - children- ann 20,john 17, frank 11, david 6, james 3, and lodger james johnson 28, all born staffs except isaac which was lancashire. i have a 1861 census for martha and thomas nixon in hanley staffs with children david rogers 17 (stepson) and james rogers 13 (stepson) but these two are pretty close to the children of isaac as you can see, otherwise it could be right. very baffling! anyway- isaacs father was john johnson on marriage, but cannot find his marriage so cannot find mother, or his birth with mother on, kind regards kim.
Yes a bit of a pickle alright Kimberlynn..You say Isaac died about 1850 so I take it you don't have a copy of his death cert? If Isaac was the 2nd husband of Martha and they married in 1851 then your information is all wrong..Then you go on to say her first child with him Ann was born in 1831. Marriage information all matches up though for Martha who seems to have married three times last husband being Nixon..The children baffle you as she had two with Rogers around the same time as two of Isaacs? Hmmmm, Sorry if I sound like a bit of a Polly Parrot but I am thinking as I type reading what you have written above trying to take it all in..Something does not add up here with Isaac and all the dates..He must have died between 1851/1861 from the Census information you have stated above..Daughter Ann is with them aged 20 years in 1851 so Martha must have married Isaac about 1830 under the name of Martha Rogers...Pickle indeed so lets see if we can sort this mess out for you..

no- i dont have a copy of death cert but as i say isaac must have died in the 1850,s after 1851 (as got census) and before 1861 as martha is with thomas nixon then. i cannot find isaac and martha,s marriage and i agree it should be around 1830, the only one i had was in 1851 wolstanton- martha,s name was rogers and her father john smith, so that adds up too!
Hi
Martha Smith married Charles Rogers 2 May 1827 Stoke on Trent Staffs
Baptism Philip Rogers 2 March 1838 and Anna Rogers 8 Sept 1833 both Hanley Staffs
Recorded death of an Isaac Johnson June 1856 Stoke on Trent 6b 98
Marriage Thomas Nixon married Martha Johnson Dec 1856 6b 240 Stoke on Trent
The marriage of Isaac Johnson to possibly Matha Rogers is shown as Sept 1851 after the 1851 census and is at Woolstanton Staffs
ah- you have found the death, thanks so much, i have not got the two children mentioned philip and anna, this is confusing as i have children born to isaac and martha at the same time on 1851 census! but on the 1861 census two children with martha and thomas nixon, david rogers17 and james rogers 13 now i think these two who are on the 1851 census with isaac are not isaacs sons as they are rogers so i dont think martha had any children with isaac and he died in 1856, and i have no children born after 1848 (james) and would account for no marriage found only the 1851 one, thanks again
