Another brick wall:

John Murdoch (birth not known) m Janet Aitken (born 20 Apr 1768 in Stranraer, Wigtownshire) Married 05 Dec 1795 in Stranraer, Wigtown. Children: James c1798, Hugh c1801, and possibly Helen c1805

Their son James Murdoch was born 02 Oct 1798 in Leswalt, Wigtown. He married Jane McCrae, born 15 Oct 1802 in Leswalt. They married 29 May 1825 in Kirkcolm, Leswalt, Wigtownshire. Children that I know of are:
Elizabeth, b 1826
John, b 1827
Andrew, b 1832
James, b 1833
David, b 1836
They were all born in Leswalt.

Their son John, born 31 Dec 1827, married Rosina Wright, born 1831 in Inch, Wigtown.
They married 18 Dec 1851 in Wigtown. Their children were James, John, William, Andrew, Margaret and Jane. Born in Inch, Liglartrie, Colmonell and Girvan.

Their son William married Sarah Nibloe, born 23 Mar 1864 in Glasgow. They married 24 Nov 1885 in Girvan, Ayr.

Any way of knowing what date this was from? I see that he was 5 yrs old at the time. The area is certainly appropriate.
