Frederick Spenlove Brown, Martha Lucy Beards

Completely stuck at:

Frederick Spenlove Brown, born c1860 m Martha Lucy Beard born c1863. Both born in England. No other information except that they had one child that I am aware of: Amy Freda Spinlove Brown born 24 Feb 1884 at Stretton-on-Dunsmore, Warwick, England. Frederick died around 1902.

Daughter Amy married James Cusack (born 24 Jun 1876), on 04 Sep 1903 in St. Francis Church, Cumberland St.,Hutchesonton, Glasgow.

Martha Lucy Beard married a second time to: John Bygroves on 06 Aug 1885 in Warwick, England. She married a third time to Hugh McLinden. She died 08 Dec 1926 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Hi Eileen,

I have just found a death record of a George Frederick Brown, who died in Mission City, British Columbia, Canada on 17 September 1962. Date of birth given as 07 April 1897, place of birth, Manitoba. Wife was Ethel Emily Gibbs. Father was Frederick Spenlove Brown and mother was Mary Frances Watson.

Is this the correct family?

Hi Eileen,

I did a general Spenlove Brown search and found three births:

Elizabeth Spenlove Brown, Jan 1870, Headington, Oxfordshire

Arthur Spenlove Brown, 1872, Oxfordshire

George Spenlove Brown, 1876, Oxfordshire

From these, I carried out a census search and found a family living in the Leamington area of Warwickshire in 1891. I found the above children and other siblings, but no Frederick. When I went back to the 1881 census, he had appeared. Frederick was born in 1868 in Oxfordshire.

His parents were James Brown born c.1838 in Leamington, and Elizabeth.

I looked for a marriage and found this one:

Elizabeth Spinlove Cook Jan-Feb-Mar 1863OxfordOxfordshire

Page 646

I think this is the family you are looking for. I am unable to find Frederick's birth record as yet, but I will keep looking, unless someone else can find it.

Not sure about Rachel being a connection to your Spenlove,Spinlove?

Seems she was born in Norfork and was the daughter of Benjamin born Suffolk and Phoebe..

mrsp2008 could be on track for Oxfordshire..

1901 Has Rachel staying with family in Romford..(Bennett)

Thought there might be a possibilty we could match up the Spinlove/Spenlove Brown lines for you
