Thread: Frank Harvey

hi,

I have hit a bit of a brick wall. Frank was born in 1875, his father was Richard (1833-1885) mother was Hannah Batley (1838-1880) I am unable to find Frank in the 1891 census he would be about 16 at that time.

If anyone has any suggestions i would be grateful.

Do you have any information on place of birth or Residence ?

is this him on the 1881 (for reference)

Frank was born in 1875 in Hull Yorkshire.

In 1881 Frank lived at 6 Amity Court in Hull

In 1901 he lived 23 Coggan street again in Hull

In 1937 when he died his address was 6 Sylvester Grove Bean Street, Hull

yes this is Frank Harvey (my grandfather) I have found him again in 1901 but not in 1891.

In 1885 Frank became an orphan and the family have saidd he was in an orphanage but I have tried to find thsi out to no avail. Another story is that Frank worked in a stable in the holderness area but there is little information.

there are various trees on A*****y with Frank, none of them appear to have the 1891 census for him :-(
On the 1901 he is lodging with a family called Cottingham

Hull City Archives have the records for the two main orphanages in Hull

I have a copy of the 1901 census and of the 1881 census but it is the 1891 that I am missing and as I live in Hull I have also been to the records office

oh right, only other thing I can think of is that his name has been mistranscribed.
