    Default William Unwin Born 1758

I have william Unwin who dies in 1842 in Ripon Yorkshire aged 84 therefore he was born in 1758, in the 1841 Census he says he was not born in Yorkshire. His occupation is gardener/seedman/nurseryman he marries Mary Ann Burch in 1814 while living in Stretford, Yorkshire. I cannot find out anything about where he was born etc - my brickwall. I suppose I should be happy with what I have found out but I would really love to know more.

If you check the IGI [family search site] there are three William unwins born between 1758 - 1762 in Yorkshire. Now I am not saying one of these is your man. But check it out

Yes I think his birth must have been in Manchester as it is definately not Yorkshire as per the 1841 Census and the fact he is living in Stretford Manchester at the time of his marriage. There is also the burial of an Eleanor Unwin aged 56 in Stretford - wife of William but I cant find out if it is the wife of my William 2 months before he marries Mary ann Burch.

this site has adverts on it, which probably earns revenue and i cannot see your acknowledgements to Lancs OPC on your post, the LDS references
are from a totally different site.
