I recently found out that my grandmother lived in Glasgow during the period 1914-16, and I want to know if it's possible for me to find out where she lived and went to school, if possible. Does anybody know how I might go about this?

Any idea which part of glasgow - also protestant or catholic would be a clue
They were protestant, but sadly I have no idea where in Glasgow they would have lived. My great-grandfather recruited for the Royal Navy, that's all I know.Originally Posted by Grungedav

Hi There Familia Enigma, The reason I asked for your Grandmothers details such as a birth year if known was to see if we could trace her in 1911..If she started school in 1914-1916 she may have attended a school very close to where her family was living at the time..

Hi,
She was born on the south coast of England in 1908, so unfortunately that wouldn't work. Her maiden name was Drown and I know her father worked in the Glasgow from 1914-1918 at least. Her first name was Alice.

Have you thought of contacting the National Records of Scotland (NRS). ?
