Thread: Has anyone access to Australian records?

Annie Smith nee Phillips emigrated to Australia in 1928 and I would love to know if she remarried. She was born in Sunderland in 1904 and went to Australia to look for work and left her husband and son in England. They never saw her again.Any info would be appreciated.

Each state in Australia keep separate records. New South Wales have the most accessible records online as do Queensland and some Western Australian. Other states are not online and not free.

With a name like Annie Smith though it is going to be very difficult to find. I just did a quick check with NSW and there are 105 marriages for a Smith with the Christian name containing Annie between 1928 and 1960. I am including the link to the National Library. Just go to the state of preference and look for BDM for that state it will tell you which are available online free.
