looking for nans family

Hi
Can somebody help pleaseeee,my nan Laura Ethal Nicholls was born 31.10.1892
in Evenley Northants she died 05.12.1972 and resided at 20 Regina Road west
Ealing.W13.I have been trying to trace her family history without any luck at all
i have gone on various sites costing me lots of money but just hit a brick wall
all the time,its as though she did nt exist at all.I have her death certificate so i have the right imfo on her can anyone help ??please !

Does her death cert. say who she was the widow off, we maybe then able to trace her maiden name through marriage .

Hi John,

If Laura is your nan then she must have had a child who is/was your parent. Do you not have their birth certificate - it would give Laura's maiden name -I'm presuming she was married??- if she was unmarried we are looking for Laura Ethel Nicholls which mat make the search easier.

Can you please tell us all you know and we'll take it from there.

Hi John

I have been having a look for your nans records and have not come up with anything more than her death. I have come back to to your thread and realised probably why. You have the same name so she must have married into the Nicholls family and was therefore not born under that name. Is this the case and do you have any further names such as her husband or siblings? The census records do not tally also because I have been looking for the wrong name so I need a bit more to progress.
