Hi all i am trying to trace my father in laws family on his mothers side, its a long story but his father always blamed him for the death of his wife, when he was born his wife passed away with blood poisoning

ok here is what i know his father was a Richard Gregory and he was married to a Frances moore i have no idea where they were married but they lived in nottigham, we do not even know here date of birth, richards date of birth was around 1906.

i am not sure but they may be related to the moore family tree in pinxton but cannot be certain.

can anyone help us trace the moore family of notingham or know where i can find marriage records for a richard gregory and a frances moore ?

There is a birth but not sure if yours Name: Richard Gregory Date of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep 1908 Registration district: Nottingham Inferred County: Nottinghamshire Volume: 7b

hi that is the one i am after, this give me a good start i just need to find the marriage certificate and i can then trace the parents of frances, this certificate may give me her date of birth. what i am trying to do is to see if there are any living relatives on my father in laws side. thanks for the information it should give me a head start, my father in law never knew his mother or where he came from and i would like to piece this all together for him.

If you check the Free BMD site you will see there are 2 Frances Moore's one born 1903 at Basford down as Frances Beatrice Moore and the other Frances Elizabeth at Mansfield in 1909. It may be one of these I do not know. perhaps you may have to send for a certificate. Do you know the parents of Frances?. The only marriage that fits is the one mentioned earlier by Chris if you send for this certificate it will give her age not dob, her Father and his noccupation. Good luck with your family history. Plese do not print anything about people who may stilll be alive though.

They had two children Samuel in 1908 and Richard 1909 both born Basford.
