Thread: Royal Navy shipwrights

Many of my ancestors worked as shipwrights for the royal navy mainly at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth but also Portsmouth and Liverpool. I would love to know what records were kept back in the 1800's and early 1900's and if they are available to research.
There was a devonport museum website but alas that is no more so any help would be really appreciated.
