There was a Robert Teesdale born in 1740 who was chief gardener at Castle Howard not far from Terrington, wondering if they could be linked - information on the botanist - says he died in 1804 but give no biographical details. Does anyone have a death for my Robert Teasdale, or a clue about whether the two are the same person

these are the births for Richard the father ; there are none for Yorkshire as these were found on a Uk search...

I couldn't find another Robert Teasedale of the same date so assuming it may well be him due to proximity of locations if it is there is a genus of flora named after him!

I am just having a look at your records are these from Family search?

Do you know how to search using Batch codes -if you do have a look at P008021- it contains 17 TEASDALE;s with various spellings in TERRINGTON

However the confirmation of these records is tying them up with a parish record
