Thread: American Ancestor search

Hi all,

I wonder if someone may be able to help please? I'm looking for a Richard Lewis born c. 1839, Providence M.S., America.

He married in Middlesex in 1872 but I cannot find any record of him prior to this. His marriage certificate states he was a mariner and his father was Richard Lewis, occupation carpenter.

I have him on 1881, 1891 and 1901 census, all of which give his place of birth as America, and two state Providence M.S.

If anyone can perhaps find him or point me in the right direction, I'd very much appreciate it.

I checked incoming passenger lists but didn't find him. He's something of a mystery isn't he?

Thank you for that! Yes he does seem to be a mystery! Yet another one to add to the list! LOL! It's my husband's tree and it's full of them! Mine's been a bit of a doddle, but I'm frequently banging my head against a brick wall with his! It constantly keep me awake at night, trying to figure out other avenues to get to the mystery people!
