Thread: Trying to find CHARLES ANDREWS

This gentleman is abit of a mystery.
He was my grandmothers (ETHEL VICTORIA PHILLIPS nee ANDREWS) father.
Her mother was RACHEL ANDREWS nee HUMM (see previous posting on this lady))
On my drandmothers birth cert in 1887 he is described a 'Property Master at Theatre'
her birth was recorded at Portsea.

On the 1901 census her mother RACHEL ANDREWS is decribed as a widow although investigatons cannot actually prove a marriage took place.
There is a reference to ETHEL aged 13 and DOROTHY aged 9.

I cannot pin down his birth record (may not have been Portsea) , marriage is dubious, and death certificate. If DOROTHY was 9 in 1901 then its possible that CHARLES ANDREWS was still alive in 1892 so did he die between 1892 & 1901?
