Thread: Bartons in Kent

I have traced my family back to John Barton, b1811, and his parents were John and Ann(e). Ann's maiden-name was Bowle(s), but I can't find their marriage. Ann(e) was born in Dymchurch, according to one of the censuses; and it may be that John was born in 1787 in East Peckham - it is this fact in particular that I want to establish, as I have some DNA evidence that the family comes from East Peckham, but I need to corroborate it.

Not sure where you are, but could i suggest you contact the Kent Family History Society. They have transcribed many of the parish records including East Peckham and Dymchurch. These are available on CD quite cheaply. The Kent Family History Society
