Hi Simon,

Your request message isn't very descriptive. William Davis' mother is Sophia Stone, was she first married to a Mr Davis and later married a Mr Stone? If so, do you know Mr Stone's first name and when they married? Tell us ALL you know William then we'll be better equipped to help you.

Are you sure his mother was Sophia Stone, or are you basing that on the 1871 census index where Wiliam's household includes mother Sophia Stone? If you are, I'm not sure she is his mother as the original census has William, wife Fanny and their children, and next door is Sophia Stone (head of household) with her daughter Caroline Goodchild, son in law James Goodchild and a servant. The index is wrong, these are two separate households.
