Thread: "Daquis".

Hello there. I need some help here. I've been searching for quite some time for any records about my surname "Daquis". I know it sounds kinda odd for a British to have such a surname. I actually am a Filipino and is currently residing in the Phils.

I came across a record of a man named "Johannis Daquis' who was baptized on 03 May 1694 in Thornton Steward, York, England and whose father is named "Leonard Daquis". That's the only information I have about the two of them.

I am quite certain that he's not a Filipino 'cause it is very unlikely that a Filipino migrated to England during that time and also for his father's first name.

And help regarding the matter is very much appreciated.

I have tried to find that baptism elsewere however sadly nothing , only record was on familysearch . Maybe some kind member have access to the bp. of Thornton Steward hope you solve this .
