Using Mirfield to search, in 1851, there is a John and Jane ages matching, Jane from Lockwood, Yorks. John is an Engine Tender but maybe pulling it together is the fact they are in Huddersfield, same address

You can find him till 1881 if you search using Mirfield to see if he is your man, always on the same road, 1871 he is a cellaman and c 1857 a daughter Frederica F E Gill is born.
Found a couple of marriages putting in Huddersfield

GILL Frederica Frances E Huddersfield 9a/624 to William berry
She is still single 1901
